IN THIS LESSON
We look at Hebrews 10:19-39.
We learn because of the new covenant brought in by the blood of Jesus, we can come boldly and with confidence to receive help in our time of need.
Jesus made a way and no longer is there a veil keeping anyone out, He ripped it open and now everyone has access by faith.
These Hebrew people were under extreme persecution and this author wants them to hang on.
Don’t lose hope, for He who promised is faithful. We are reminded how much we need to be connected to the body of Christ and gather and encourage one another in this new covenant called grace.
We can be creative in our gathering, but we want to remember we are meant to be a family.
We also saw that if a person chooses to reject this salvation offer, there is no other sacrifice available and that person will experience the wrath of God eventually.
Continuing to observe the Law of Moses is trampling on the Spirit of grace and the sacrifice of Christ is mankind’s only hope, not obedience to the Law.
Yes, there is persecution in this life and anyone leaving legalism to trust in the finished work of Christ can experience it and just like these Hebrews, hang on because this faith that brings persecution, will pay off in the end.
Like those before us, even though they didn’t see all the promises come to pass, they went out in faith.
This is a chapter full of warnings and inviting for those that have refused to believe to believe, and for those of us who believe, to hang on.
We who believe are not of those who shrink back, but are to hold onto our hope firm until the end.
