IN THIS LESSON

We look at Hebrews 10:1-18 .

We look at the Law and see that it was just a shadow of Christ, and the reality is here.

Jesus and the new covenant are the good things that have come and now we live in a covenant of grace.

Jesus’ one time sacrifice did what the blood of bulls and goats could never do, make perfect the worshiper and cleanse their conscious.

We saw that God does not have a system that we receive forgiveness daily.

That system was a reminder of sin and God does not want us preoccupied with our sin, He wants us preoccupied with Him.

In the new covenant, God says He will remember our sin no more.

The old system was not pleasing to God because it could never bring the worshiper near, but because of Christ we can draw confidently to the throne of grace.

The blood of bulls and goats God did not desire, so He prepared a body for Jesus so He could be nailed to a cross for us.

The author of Hebrews also tells us God’s will for Jesus was to come and take away the first covenant in order to bring in the second.

We are free from guilt, have been sanctified, set apart and made holy and we belong to God because of what Christ accomplished on our behalf.

We are a people that belong to God and this chapter teaches us more about our relationship with Him.
